ACC_TMO

Definition: ACC_TMO determines the access acknowledgment timeout period. Specifically, ACC_TMO equals two less than the length of time, in units or multiples of 80 msec, the mobile station is required to wait after the end of an access channel transmission before deciding that the base station did not receive the transmission at an acceptable power level.

    ACC_TMO

    Example:
Four bits are allocated to ACC_TMO in the access parameters message. The time the mobile waits for an acknowledgment, denoted by TA, equals (2+ACC_TMO)x80 msec. Typically ACC_TMO would be small, say zero to 6.

Waiting times much longer than this may become objectionable to the users.
