Example: Typically PWR_STEP equals about decimal 3 dB. The access parameters message allocates 3 bits to PWR_STEP, so the step could be as great as 7 dB. The number of probes in a probe sequence is typically around 5. If this is the case, NUM_STEP equals decimal 4 or binary 0100 in the 4-bit format which is allocated to NUM_STEP in the access parameters message. Continuing the example started under the NOM_PWR and INIT_PWR topic, if the initial probe is transmitted at 10 dBm, the next four probes (assuming none of the probes is acknowledged) would be transmitted at powers equal to 13, 16, 19, and 22 dBm.
