PRAT

    Definition: PRAT is the paging channel data rate. Recall that the data rate on the paging channel may be either 4800 bits/sec (called half rate) or 9600 bits/sec (called full rate).

    Example:
    PRAT is conveyed on the synchronization channel as a 2-bit binary field. The field 00 is used to denote a data rate of 9600 bits/sec and 01 denotes 4800 bits/sec. The other two possible binary words are reserved.
