By Dr. Ernest Simo

1.0 The Multiple Access Problem

Consider a given Bandwidth (B) from a Frequency Spectrum (f).

The Multiple Access (MA) problem is the process which attempts to allow several (N) to share a common bandwidth B simultaneously.

Several solutions to the Multiple Access Problem exist. Here, we will define and review three strategies: Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA), Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA).
