1.0 Nyquist Sampling
The Sampling Process
Nyquist Theorem requires that the time-domain speech signal be sampled at a minimum rate of twice the highest frequency component of the waveform.
This is to prevent distortion (aliasing) of the speech signal during the recovery process at the receiver.
