38.0 How are Frame Error Rate Statistics reported to the Base Station?
Frame Error Rates are reported to the Base Station in the following manner: Both Periodic and Threshold reporting modes may be enabled simultaneously, either one of them may be enabled, or both modes may be disabled at any given time.
- The Frame Error Rate Statistics (FER) are sent to the Base via a Power Measurement Report message (PMRM).
- After sending the PMRM to the Base, the Mobile Unit shall reset the Total-Frame counter and the Bad-Frame counter to zero, and;
- shall not increment either counter for a period of time following the first transmission of the PMRM .
- This nominal period of time is referred to as the Power Report Delay and is defined in the Power Control Parameters message.
