35.0 How does controlling the Forward Link power make all Mobiles appear to have the same performance, regardless of Near-Far situation?

By controlling the Forward Link power, we can optimally allocate the Base Station power resources between all Forward Logical channels. This is done by allocating more power to distant Mobiles while allocating less power to near-by Mobile units. As a result, all Mobiles appear to have the same performance.

This capability is implemented by suitably adjusting the power gains of the Forward Link logical channels as summarized below:
