PILOT_INC
Definition: PILOT_INC is the pilot PN sequence offset index increment. It is the interval between pilots, in units of 64 PN-chips, of the base stations in a system. The mobile stations search the remaining-set pilots at PN sequence index values that are multiples of this value.

Example: PILOT_INC is often set at decimal 4 or 2. Then the search in the remaining set is for pilots which are offset by 4(64) or 256 PN chips or 2(64) or 128 PN chips. If the system only assigns pilot offsets, in units of 64 PN-chips, in multiples of say 4, then it is a waste of valuable search assets and search time to search for pilots with offsets, in units of 64-chips, which are not a multiple of 4. If PILOT_INC is decimal 4, then there are 128 pilot PN offsets with values equal to a multiple of 4, e.g., zero, 4, 8, 12, ..., 512.
