Community and Training Resource for CDMA Professionals

Dr. Ernest Simo , and his team of Space 2000 professionals, announces the launch of CDMAonline.com, a meeting and virtual working place for CDMA professionals from around the world. CDMAonline.com is designed to support and supplement the live, instructor led, seminar training provided by Space 2000 since 1987 on a worldwide basis.

In addition to the IS-95 Implementation, Call Processing, CDMA Performance Evaluation and CDMA Optimization seminars, Space2000 has recently developed a new seminar series on 3G. Our emphasis here is twofold: 1- Compare and contrast the various 3G candidates and 2-Present and discuss "Migration Strategies" from current 2G systems (IS-95, IS-136 and GSM) to proposed 3G environments (IS-2000, WCDMA, UTRA).

The driving force behind the development of CDMAonline.com is Dr. Ernest Simo, a 20-year veteran of communications technology and renowned trainer and educator in the fields of Satellite Communications, CDMA Technology and Wideband Wireless Systems.

DR. ERNEST SIMO Since the mid, Dr. Ernest Simo has conducted pioneering efforts in key technologies that are essential components of the Information Superhighway. Specifically, he worked with Hughes Network Systems to develop the first Generation of Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSATs) from 1983 to 1986: This class of amll-sized Satellite Communications Technology is currently used by thousands of private companies, news gathering, and broadband media around the world.

From 1986 to present he helped Motorola, Lucent, Samsung, Nokia, Bell Canada and Verizon in the development, performance evaluation and optimization of CDMA-based wireless Communications Systems. CDMA (Code-Division Multiple Access) is the key technology used in all cell phones in North America, Most of Latin America, Japan and China. Since 1984, Dr. Simo has trained over 20,000 telecommunications executives, managers and engineers in the United States and around the world (USA, Ireland, Isreal, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, The Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brazil, Peru, Ghana, Australia, Argentina, Columbia, Venezuela, Chile, England and Mexico.) He provided a series of CDMA training sessions to the team that implemented the first commercial CDMA network in the world: Hutchison Telecommunications in Hong Kong (1994-1996.) He also provided training to the deployment operations team of the first commercial CDMAnetwork in the United States (Los Angelos, Orange County and Walnut Creek, CA 1996-1998.) Currently, he is helping leading US companies develop and launch the next generation of products and services in the areas of advanced wireless communications and information managemnet (3G, EV-DO, Rev-A, VoIP, IP-Based Packet Data networks and Long Term Evolution [LTE] networks.) He is the author of a series of books, videotapes and auditapes on satellite communications, VSATs, and CDMA technologies. Some of these references can be found online using the Google search engine.

Dr. Simo was a finalist to NASA astronauts' selection process in 1994 and 1996. In 1994, his co-finalists included space heroes Rick Husband and William McCool who were respectively Commander and Pilot of the space shuttle Columbia which was tragically lost in February, 2003.

    ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS:
1984-1986: Dr. Simo setup and presented 100s of satellite communications and wireless communications courses at the George Washington University (Foggy Bottom Campus.) This program was under the umbrella of a continuing education program which included the legendary Dr. Edwards Deming and Dr. peter F. Drucker.

1984-2009: Dr. Simo lectured at numerous universities and international conferences; Published three books, a 10-hour series of video tapes on satellite communications (distributed by GWU) and a recent book on Broadband Telecommunications technology (now available on Amazon.com.) Dozens of other world-class achievements can be found online using "Dr. Ernest Simo" as keywords at Google.com.
